ROYAL STYLE: The NEW Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate

If you didn't know, Prince William and Kate Middleton were married this morning in London. The two, who dated on/off for 9 years, were greeted by millions of well-wishers as the arrived to the cathedral to be united. I've been excited about this wedding all week. It appears that these two are really in love, and I only wish the best and a huge amount of success to them as the approach their future.

Now, let's get to the clothes, because that's what we are here for!
Don't you just hear the royal orchestra playing as you view this picture. Prince William wore his a scarlet military uniform to signify his honorary rank of Colonel of the Irish Guards (source). He looked quite dapper. The bride's dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. Many of my twitter followers guessed that the bride would wear an Alexander McQueen, one of Britain's premiere fashion houses and one of the world's best designers.

The Bride's tiara was a platinum and diamond Cartier crown loaned to her by the Queen. The tear drop diamond earring she wore were given to her by her parents. Her shoes were created by the House of McQueen as well.

Phillipa Middleton, Kate's sister, affectionately known as Pippa, wore an Alexander McQueen bias cut dress. In addition, she wore a pair of flower inspired earrings given to her by her parents. She looked smashing.

The whole event was quite elegant and surprisingly simple. Well, as simple as a wedding of a newly crowned Duke and Duchess' wedding could be. The people of Britain were supremely happy and you could feel the unity and love in the air.
