THE TREND: The Hundreds x Cross Colours - back to the 90's!

The Hundreds X Cross Colours Collab
I tried to tell ya, so I'll tell you again - The 90's are back! And this capsule collection with The Hundreds and Cross Colours are a sure indication that you need some sort of 90's inspiration in your wardrobe this fall.

Not familiar with Cross Colours, then you must have never caught an episode of In Living Color, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, or any hip-hop video between 1990-1994. Basically, Carl Jones and TJ Walker started the company - one a graphic designer, the other a fashion designer. They saw the need for more bright colors and how young urban kids were wearing clothes, a bit more baggy and a bit more over-sized. Plus, gang violence was crazy at the time, the team wanted to find a way to bring communities together. Within two years of it's conception Cross Colours was shipping more than $10 million in inventory. Then, after a series of unfortunate events, the brand went silent. (source)

Now, the team has gained rights to their logo and are making small capsul collections with some of our favorite retailers: Karma Loop, Urban Outfitters, and now The Hundreds. The Hundreds Capsule collection launches on August 21. The collection will feature tees, sweatshirts, and hats the feature the famous logo, bright colors, and community building campaign.

More looks from the Aug 2014 launch
I graduated from high school in 1996! So, seeing this resurgence of 90's fashion, brands, and trends that I couldn't afford because I was a struggling teen brings happiness to my fashion fingers. And the invention of online shopping means I get to purchase some of these looks with a click of a finger. Oh yeah, because I'm a grown-up, I KNOW what works for my body and what doesn't.

I think my Fall 2014 style is gonna be BANANAS! And purchasing one of these Cross Colours pieces for my closet.
