MY STYLE: Interesting textures & warm layers

Today's look is an experiment in textures and layering. I've never been one to like winter coats. Sometimes they are too big and bulky making me feel too hot - instead of feeling warm and toasty. So, HOLA LAYERS!

Sometime last year, my friend & designer Charles Lord gifted this sleeveless jacket to me. It's always fun to have a friend who designs, they tend to think of you when going through a creative explosion. This sleeveless jacket was nothing like I had in my closet. At first, I didn't know what to do then I came up with this look.

Using my staple winter look of a black turtleneck and black leggings, I added the warm wool-blend coat to the looks with this industrial inspired belt. Ooh, this looks kinda nice! I felt quite chic and I was SUPER warm without having wear a big bulky coat.

This look is a testament to trying new shapes and new techniques to create a silhouette that works for you. Give it a try.
