SHOPPING: Tennessee Tax Free Weekend

It's TAX-FREE weekend! Oh yeah! Initially, a weekend planned to aid parents purchase school supplies and uniforms, Tax Free Weekend has become a favorite for Tennessee's fashionistas. You don't have to have kids to enjoy this Sales Tax Holiday and I'm gonna show you how. Let's go:

  • WHEN: Tax Free Weekend: July 29th - July 31st
  • WHERE: The state of Tennessee and online
  • WHAT: Clothing ($100 or less), School Supplies ($100 or less), Electronics ($1500 or less)
So, as a fashionista, how does this benefit you?

Well you can purchase all the clothes you want as long as EACH ITEM is less than $100. I use Tax-Free Weekend to purchase all my essentials. This is the perfect time to stock up on underwear, leggings, sleepwear, and the like. All the stuff that builds the foundation of a good wardrobe, are the things you need to purchase this weekend. In addition, this is the perfect time to stock up on pre-fall and fall looks. YES, before you know it, Fall will be here with it's Pumpkin Spice delights!

Of course, the malls are gonna be packed. You can purchase items online. Yes, from the sweet comfort of your home you can catch these sales! And, you can use coupons with your purchases. How sweet as this?! During my recent visit to the Opry Mills, all the stores had the best sales: BOGO's, 40% off, and every percentage off you can think of.

Oh yeah, don't sleep on the Electronics. If you are a blogger-in-training, this is a good weekend to purchase a new computer, camera, or cell phone (basically the blogger starter pack). Best Buy, Apple, and Groupon are great places to purchase electronics online. Make it happen.

Lastly, don't front on SHOPPING LOCAL. When you shop local and use your tax-free benefits, you are straight-up giving back to the community. Saving money and helping a local retailer? C'mon, you can't get any better than that!

So, I hope you take advantage of this weekend. Yes, you'll only be saving about 8.5% but, when you purchase a bunch of stuff, you can really save up. What will you purchase this weekend? Let me know in the comments section!
