Prep With Fab Glance (Nashville Fashion Week): Week 2

I hope you’ve been following my hashtag #PrepWithFabGlance on the social media! As you know, Nashville Fashion Week start on April 1, 2014. My website is one of the media outlets chosen to cover the event, so I thought it’d be cool to take you, the reader, on my preparation journey. I try to tag my posts, #PrepwithFabGlance, on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Hitting the gym – HARD!

In week 2 I’ve continued my foray into more consistent health and fitness, thanks to Nashville Athletic Club and Code Jay Fitness, and guess what –  I lost FIVE POUNDS! I don’t have a certain goal of pounds to lose before Nashville Fashion Week but I know I want to feel healthier.

Now, it’s time to start picking out the clothes.

I know it seems early, but finding the right five looks is quite important. Being a plus-size lady, some of my items need to be ordered. If you didn’t know, we are quite low on plus-size boutiques, that’s why I order online. If they don’t fit correctly, then I can send things back before the big week.

It started with a dress

If you follow any of the popular plus-size bloggers, you’ve seen people drooling over Simply Be’s AX Sequin Bodycon Dress. This aqua-green dream needs to be on my body, opening night, perhaps! I know if I start the week with this look, I have to keep the party going with even more show-stopping looks.

I believe in the power of the body-con! BABY! This is a dress I’d wear with a pair of chucks or a cute pair of flats. For me, Fashion Week is about work. Most of the week, I’m standing on my feet, in the photo pit, or interviewing designers. I need to be cute enough for photos, but comfortable enough to go the distance. This body-con dress from ASOS may do the trick.

You want to keep up with the items I may order for Nashville Fashion Week, follow my pintrest board.

And what’s happening on the Nashville Fashion Week website? Well, the Fashion Forward Fund winner has been announced, Elise Joseph of Pennyweight. Born and raised in Nashville, she’s the first stylist and blogger to be chosen for the award. Her win shows the importance of blogging in the fashion and style community. READ MORE here.

I’m quite excited about the upcoming week – I’ll keep the updates coming!
