I have to say, the past couple of weeks have been pretty hard. This time last year I broke up with my ex, then found out he had passed away just two weeks later. Listen, trying to find closure in a jacked up situation like that one, has been one of the HARDEST things I've had to do. I wrote about surviving my first Valentine's Day without him, on my Valentine's Day post last February. But, the thoughts of 'coulda, woulda, shoulda' have been haunting me. My mind started going to a negative space. I had to find a way to get out of it . . .
"It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts." - Robert H. Schuller
Believe me, don't let the pretty clothes fool you, everyone feels sad sometimes. Shopping and looking my best has always been my way of getting out of a bad mood. Buying something fun, is even better. This polka-dot tulle skirt from Lane Bryant was an impulse buy, but I'm so happy I purchased it. Sometimes you just have to buy the polka-dot skirt because it will make your day go better and that was what I did
Every single time I wear this skirt, I feel happy. I pulled this skirt out last week when the sad feelings started to creep up on me. No matter how my ex and I ended, I always remember him always pushing me to do my best and build my brand. You must think positive and push positive vibes in order to stay out of negative spaces.
So, if you are having a bad day, or a bad month, take my advice. Try to think of at least ONE positive thing a day. If you are dealing with getting over a negative situation (break-up, loss of job, or family issues) just find one positive element of that bad situation. When I think of my ex, I think of how he made me laugh and how sweetly he treated me. I could think of the arguments but that isn't the way to get me out of the bad space. I'm saying, take my advice! Have a polka-dot experience!
